Dr. Alison Gault
B. App. Sci. (clinical sci.) B. Osteo. Sci.
Alison grew up in Beaumaris and spent most of her school years at St. Leonards College in Brighton. Alison has been interested in health and how the body works since a very young age. She always knew that she wanted to work in a field that involved health and helping people. In her final year of schooling, Alison went to see an Osteopath for the first time and was so impressed that she decided that was what she wanted to do. Alison studied Biomedical Science at Melbourne University in 2001 before starting the 5 year Osteopathy course at RMIT from which she graduated with distinction.
On graduation from university, Alison worked at several other clinics at the same time as getting the Pascoe Vale clinic up and running. A year and a half later, she was ready to open the Ascot Vale practice and work entirely for herself.
Alison is currently working at the Carlton Football Club, assisting the players with injury management and prevention. Alison has also worked in injury prevention in the work place by conducting stretching and strengthening classes on site. Alison’s interest in injury prevention has continued into her professional life as an Osteopath. She finds that it is often the work environment that is the main contributing factor for dysfunction in the body and by changing posture, increasing strength and using stretching exercises for maintenance greatly assists her patients.
Alison also enjoys educating the general public about health by speaking regularly at schools and gyms on good posture and how to prevent common problems such as headache, low back pain and pelvic floor weakness.
